Maybe those who call themselves Christians do not believe in reincarnation. Maybe those who call themselves Christians believe in the second coming of Christ; resurrection of all who have ever lived; and final judgment. From the day they die until the Day of Judgment decomposition of the "soul" takes place; as in ashes to ashes and dust to dust.

I am delighted that a Christian shared knowledge of the bible with me in explaining Christian definitions for the words soul and spirit. The following is an except of the answer I received to one of my questions.

"The Bible is very clear on this matter. We ARE souls, we don't HAVE souls. Consider the following scriptures:

1) Genesis 2:7 "And God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul."

Here it says he became a living soul, not that he came to have a living soul.

2) Ezekiel 18:4 "Look! All the souls—to me they belong. As the soul of the father so likewise the soul of the son—to me they belong. The soul that is sinning—it itself will die."

It says that the soul that is sinning will die... how can that be if the soul is immortal? Answer: the soul is the person, not an immortal spirit creature

The Bible contains many other scriptures which show that a soul can die ie 'striking a soul with the sword', etc. The word translated soul (Hebrew: nephesh, Greek: psykhe) actually refers to the person themselves and even animals are spoken of as being souls.

Is there life after death. Yes (See Matt. 22:32)
Does that occur before or after Judgment Day? Presently I do not know as I have not studied that component. From the above scripture, I gather those people were 'living then' and I assume now. Whether they have already had their 'Judgment Day'; I do not know presently.

After death we go to the spirit world. This is either paradise or spirit prison. At the resurrection we are reunited with our perfected bodies. Jesus tomb was empty after the third day because his spirit reunited with His resurrected body.

After the resurrection is the final judgement. We go the place of our hearts desire. If you desire to be far from Heavenly Father, you, this is what you get.

You will find your answers they are in the Bible."... Ask and you shall recieve, knock and it shall be opened to you..."-Jesus
We are asleep in the ground. -(Sheol=Grave) We can be awakened, see King Saul. We rise at the resurection. We are judged, and according to our own testimony. ("We are accountable for every idle word we speak" The Holy Bible)
WE enter Eternal Life or Damnantion. IN HEAVEN, WE KNOW NO SORROW! Our memories are clean. We will not grieve loved ones. We will simply LOVE in the presence of the Holy Creator! This IS Biblical... We have a forgiving God if we are truly repentant!

As a christian I believe that when I die I will go straight to heaven, but I will also be judged when I get there. But Jesus will step in and say that he loves me and died for me and let me on in through those pearly gates.

Varies from sect to sect from Christian to Christian. There are as many versions of life after death as there are people.

The Christian afterlife is impossible.

How could a mother be happy in Heaven when the child she loves more than anything is burning in Hell?
