Bc I've heard that for topical fluoride (unlike systemic fluoride), you can never get too much of it...

Just don't swallow. Assuming the topical is in some gel base, which is how most of them are formulated these days, I don't think you can. Hypothetically, I imagine that you could do some harm if you brushed with a topical gel 10 times a day, but I doubt even that would hurt you. You'd have some brown stains on your teeth, but no physical harm.

I prescribe topical fluoride as 0.4% concentration for daily use all the time. Crest Pro Health just came out with the same concentration and you can use that as a regular toothpaste. There are no cautionary statements on the label at all about over use. Unless you are planning on more than 3-4 times a day, I am sure that there would be no ill effects.

If you use your fluoride once a day, brushing it in for a minute or so, without rinsing it out for at least 20-30 minutes, you will get adequate benefit. There is no need to go crazy with the stuff, but I don't think you can hurt yourself if you do.
