In high school I was in self destruct mode and I had one teacher particular who took a special interest in me. She always called me "Diva", I was a singer. She would tell me I could do better in school and always gave me the help I needed to pull a D to a B in chemistry. I didn't believe in myself the way she believed in me but eventually I grew up and saw in myself what she saw in me. I still visit her when I go home, she is now retired.

I had two or three whose ongoing advice and attitude really affected me. However, when I read this question, this came to mind:
After taking one of those myriad tests we had in high school long ago (not the SAT but some kind of intelligence tests--I've forgotten their names), my teacher sat down with me to go over the results.
He went through a couple of sections, explaining the meaning of the scores. Finally, he just put down the test, looked me in the eye and said, "Basically, this means that you are pretty damn smart."
Two things: One, it was wonderful to hear. Two, I felt like he was speaking to me as a mature adult. It changed how I felt--and acted--as a student.

Yes, my senior year. Miss Snow, frone Kane Area Senior High, she always told me that I could do anything that I put my mind to doing and in the proccess I would achieve my goal. That always meant alot to me and now I wish that I could go back to high school and repeat it even though there are alot of high school kids who hate school, I am just one person who loved school. I feel that if kids would take the time to actually learn they might find that school can be fun.
