Start by doing more activities that do not involve alcohol, go to places where you are not allowed to drink. Cinema, theatre, church, going for a walk in an area where there are no pubs or shops, being with people who don't consume alcohol, setting a limit when you plan time where you will be drinking alcohol. Look on the net for info about the damage caused to your body by excessive drinking. If your consumption has been at this level for a long time I would consider cutting it out completely. I would discuss your alcohol consumption with your doctor as you may be at risk of alcohol withdrawal if you were to stop suddenly without medication/monitoring.

Brian Im Dan (drugs and alcohol wrker ). 1st you have made a really positive step towards addressing your alcohol use so give yourself a tap o the back m8 ok. 2nd get a notepad and keep a drink diary for 1-2 weeks making a note of when you drink, how much, where you drink and who you may be with. You can then look at what "triggers" you to drink more ie boredom, being with certain people etc. You have to know why you drink so much fella. I would advise you go to your GP's and ask to be referred to the Alcohol worker who visits the surgery. He/she will be able to assess you and your alcohol use and offer support and help to guide you to where you want to be in relation to it. Dont totally cut out the alcohol thopugh withput medical supervision because this is dangerous Good luck m8 and feel free to email me if you need any advice / support in the future. keep me postedf !

No point cutting it down as your only going to end up doing the same amount again, try staying in for a week and doing without, see how much you have saved and go treat yourself to something you have wanted for a while, when you do go out don't keep up with your mates just because you can and its the thing to do, make your drink last you longer each time and come home with more money in your pocket and your dignity intact.

Call the landlord at your local pub a whole list of insults until he bars your as*. Then ram raid your local tescos thus getting arrested and put in jail. Failing these possibilities just superglue your mouth shut and just put food up your nose.
