Because as Michael Caine put it so well, how can you re-make a success, and have it be a success? It was good the first time around! Anyone can re-make a disaster and have a good chance of improving on it, but the first person to touch Casablanca or the Maltese Falcon goes to the wall!

Because classics are classics for a reason. There is no need to remake what is already a good classic movie. No one can come up with an original idea anymore. It's like they're all mindless zombies just making movies for a quick buck. There's no meaning behind movies anymore.

Hollywood not Holywood, always sensationalises films when they remake classic films because in their opinion it makes them better..............not!

your memory of the original is usually romanticised. as a rule, the remakes are fairly close to the original. another important that hollyweird makes remakes is that there are just not very creative people out there.

no matter how hard they try a classic film can never be remade to fashion the original. they may know the concept of the film but they can never grasp that umf that the classic had.

I find that a lot of re-makes always have political correctness injected into them. It trashes the movie and takes away from the story.
