I'm perfectly serious, if I was God I wouldn't want all these people bowing and scrapping, "Stand up man, have some dignity for my sake"

Scripture makes if perfectly clear how God wants worship. It is either His way or it is wrong.

God is a spiritual essence, and because religions of the world have a God Concept - "concept of a God being" then God cannot be religious but only spiritual.

Worship of God is a manifestation of religious belief.

It is not necessary to believe in an organized religion to believe in God.

God is not religious. He does not want ritual, He wants obedience. He would prefer a people that genuinely love and serve one another than a thousand hymns. There is no point in worshipping God if you do not show love for other people, because God is Love.

I think you've got a good point there
If he really would be the mother(god is a woman) of all creation he wouldn't need any praise about it. Just consider your own mother. Does she need praise every 5 minutes that you are thankfull for putting you on this earth. The fact that you carry her in your heart is quite enough for her. I think the same applies to God.

God isn't!!, and god isn't. Its just that man cannot comprehend death, or the loss of a powerful personality (I kin hate these ality words!!!). The fact is that we are born, live to create the next generation, then die; Just like any other living thing on the planet. Do you think a Mayfly is religious???

Probably because He is the only One who deserves our worship.

The bowing and scraping part, I don't know about, but the worship should be from the heart.

Just as I expect my children to respect me, because I am their mother. I expect them to honor the fact that I've carried them for 9 months, fed them and took care of them for the first 18 years of their life. So does God expect worship from us for the things He has done for us.

Is that really so hard to understand? Perhaps you have to be a mom or dad to get it lol

Without meaning to insult you in anyway, I am answering based on the presumption that you are in fact asking "what is God if not religious?" God is the supreme creator and being (in my mind). He created us because he was lonely, bored and wanted us to acknowledge his greatness IF we chose to do so. We have freedom of choice to believe in Him or not. We have freedom to worship Him, or indeed, not. Religion is organised dogmatic interpretation of scripture. God is not that. My holy book of choice is the Bible. I do not believe that it contains all truth but some. Jesus in the Bible judged no one and preached only what can be summarised as follows: respect for self, respect for others, responsibility for your own actions. Read love for respect if you so wish. My advice would be seek God for yourself, pray to Him and see where He leads you.

The Christian God (the only true God) wants us to worship him from the heart in truth. He does NOT want ritualistic going thru the motions actions.

I know what you mean. He isn't religious because He's more spiritual. I'm not joking either. Religious people are those who follow the ritual and the traditions while the spiritual people are those who live in accordance to the teachings and actually apply it in their daily life.

The reason we worship God is because if we ask Him to, He will save us so that we might have eternal life. I want life eternal, to see my family when I pass away, to have a perfect body with no pain and no disease. God gave His only son so that you, me, everyone might have life eternal. This is why we worship Him. He is love, He gives us peace and comfort through each day.
