Wow! Excellent! You are proving what many are saying ... if we quit the junk we could all lose weight and be healthier. It probably means you are also drinking much more water. Great job. For many of us it certainly is part of the answer to losing weight. Congratulations.

No, that isn't the key to losing weight. It definitely would help, especially if the ones you were drinking were not diet. I think that the key to losing weight is exercise. However, I did hear a statistic something along the lines of, "If your child drinks even one soda a day, he will have a 40% increased chance of becoming obese." That is scary! So, it's not surprising when adults (who have slower metabolisms than kids) drink sodas and gain weight. In addition to cutting the empty calories, go to the gym! It feels great after a hard workout.

Yes, that certainly does help... The "villian" in soda is HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP... which is an EXTREMELY inexpensive sweetener. Its found in soda, BBQ sauce, ketchup, imitation maple syrup, soups, gatorade, powerade, pretty much everything.... TV dinners, the list goes on and on. The reason HFCorn Syrup is SO bad is because it is quickly converted to fat if it is not burned as energy. The saying that this soda will straight to my hips.. its true. You just have to monitor what you eat and decide what you want to consume. Good job on the weight loss!!

It can be, there are up to 16 teaspoons of sugar in a soda, so that is a lot of calories that are taken in very quickly. Cutting out these processed sugars is often the key to weight loss for people who are not over-consuming other things.

Well if you were drinking too much to begin with and you've stopped cold turkey then yeah it would stop so much sugar intake but if you have to have it go for any diet cola because it's just as effective as not drinking any at all. Remember it's the carbs that impact your weight.

Sounds good. Have you added alot of water? Might want to check out the recent studies that show drinking 2 glasses of milk daily will also help lose lbs. Keep up the good work!

Not a key but is a factor. Reduce or eliminate empty calories, like soda & junk food, eat a healthy well balanced diet and increase activity, such as walking & excercise.
