you cant "blanche" an egg because it has a shell. You blanche vegetables and fruits to lightly peel off the skins. You hard/soft boil eggs. But frying eggs in bacon grease is yummy. You actually have to crack the egg open and fry it, there is no way to really cook an egg in its shell in bacon grease.

Blanching means to scald or parboil briefly, then drain. Usually done to things like spinach to keep the green color vivid, or tomatoes to assist in removing the skin. And definitely not with grease, water is used.
I don't think I have ever heard of 'blanching' an egg. You can soft boil, hard boil or poach, could that be what you mean.

Blanche is a method of cooking using little water or to float something over boiling water. You don't use oil for that matter. But heck - eggs tastes really great if you cook it after cooking bacon.

my underatanding is that blanching uses water and grease of any kind if considered frying--
if you were to blanch vegetables, you wouldnt use grease so why would you think blanching an egg would not use water?
