Take good soluble multi vitamin with adequate Vitamin E, B complex, and anti oxidants.
You wouldn't think this would be true... but Walmart brand vitamins have been rated high quality by Consumer Reports. That's what I use.

Good for you, taking control of your health! And congrats on your transition to a vegan diet! There is not much of a difference between the B12 in supplements and the B12 that is added to foods. The only difference is in knowing exactly how much you're getting. I take a supplement because I don't eat a whole lot of those manufactured fortified foods. (Do I actually take the supplement daily? Nope.) I don't buy a lot of expensive packaged cereals and non-dairy milks that have B12 added. I feel that it's cheaper, generally healthier, and more delicious to make your own real food from scratch. The only fortified food ingredient I buy is nutritional yeast, and I don't use enough of it to get all the B12 I need. Another answerer had some info right, and some info kind of confused. Here's the deal: All vegans need B12 supplementation, in small but regular quantities. Yes, in most vegans, it can take months or years for B12 deficiencies to show up. Severe deficiencies are more likely in people who don't absorb nutrients well due to compromised digestion or damaged intestines, like those with celiac disease. Most of us don't have those problems. But we still need to keep up our B12 stores for best energy and health! If you were raised on a non-vegan diet, your body has stored up a fair amount of B12. It will take some time for your body to deplete those stores - months or years for most of us. That doesn't mean you shouldn't keep those stores full, though! Your body needs a good supply of B12 for metabolism and energy! Responsible vegan nutritionists will recommend that you regularly take a small amount in the form of a B-complex supplement or in fortified foods, and also, about once a week take a larger amount in the form of a sublingual lozenge. It's this combo pack that ensures you will not run low. Your body will use what it needs, store what it wants, and then excrete what it doesn't want. It's hard to get too much - your body likes to store lots of this vitamin, and there is no danger of overdose like with some other vitamins. So, what most vegans should do for optimum health is take a larger dose sublingual lozenge about once a week, and then also take a smaller dose somewhat regularly, in the form of a multi, or a B-Complex vitamin, or a smaller B12 tablet, or in the form of fortified foods. If you forget to take it sometimes, no biggie. Your body won't run low if you started with a good supply, and supplement fairly regularly. Fortunately, B12 is the only nutrient that it this hard to get on a vegan diet - and this isn't even that hard! B12 supplements are fairly cheap, and they're the only supplements you need!
