I was wondering if there is a way to Compress Music Files on my computer to free up disk space. but still be able to play them on Window Media Player? I have over 300 songs that's why I'm looking for a way to free up space but keep the songs.

you CAN do that.you will be needing a list of programs called the decoders and encoders.(that is to compress and decompress your media files).so just go ahead and download 'K-lite codec pack'-full from 'download.com' and install it in your pc.then you can go ahead and compress your music to almost any format and still play it with windows media player.and for compressing the music files you can find a lot of compression utilities in the same website.(download.com).have fun.

Hello, yes there is just stick your cd into the computer then click on windows media and just save your music on it. So that way when you go to play it on the computer it will open up and start playing for you. Bye. Talk to you later.

yeah i had that too! microsoft does not supply loose codec for domicile windows media participant, i realize it sucks, yet its domicile windows! u want a decoder...with mines, as quickly as I put in potential dvd 5. and then whilst i attempted to open up domicile windows media participant, it performed the DVD!! without installation the decoder for domicile windows media participant, probably through fact it shares the records or some thing. in case you like deploy potential dvd, or nero showtime, open up domicile windows media participant, or open up the video record utilising wmp, and notice if it is going to play the video record

are they in mp3 format already? if not, use CDex to compress with the LAME mp3 encoder. i would just burn the music files on CD-R or DVD-R if you want to free up space.
