tough call. Worse still, if you take your chances but have misinterpreted it all (say, you try to kiss the girl who wanted to be just a friend), you may run into trouble.

In such situations I have found that if it becomes a bit too uncomfortable, it can be best to just ask to clarify, and do it in the most considerate manner possible.

My take is that, at an age when everyone is sexually mature and everything i.e. adult or nearly adult, when there is a friendship between a man and a woman, it is nearly certain that one of the two parties is hoping for / taking chances that, it will end up in a love story.

I can think of at least one example of a woman who was my friend. One day I heard from common friends that one of the guys in the group had told her he loved her and wanted to go out with her, but she had turned him down although he was a perfectly nice and great guy. Someone suggested that it was because I would one day notice that she'd like to be involved in a love story with me.

At the time I was involved in a long-distance relationship so I was not free. So I had dinner with the woman friend and told her all about that relationship, to make it clear to her that I was not free. And, to make sure that she would not miss opportunities (much) better than me just because of some vague hope.

She did indeed seem stunned / shocked, but in the end thanks me for telling her (though she never mentioned anything about plans she might have had for the two of us).

Unfortunately, over a period of just weeks after that we became almost strangers because all of a sudden she did not want to see me anymore (which made sense). And since I have, at best, seen her only once or twice a year, at friends' parties.

So I had clarified something - but I lost a friend.

So, be careful!

Her eyes will tell all. If you can not make out call her to a party and have your experienced friend watch her when she talks to you. Also she will never be in a hurry to leave you and go. She will try subtle ways to meet you again and again. These are some of the indicators. Best way- After you have spent some time with her ask her a direct question. Whether the relationship is moving towards a purpose or both of you are wasting time?

It all depends on the situation. Does she make eye contact with you a lot? Do you ever catch her staring at you for no particular reason? When she speaks to you does she say that she likes someone but won't tell you who? Does she seem to want to talk to you a lot? When she talks to you in person does she seem to stand really close to you? If she does stuff similar to these things, then she most likely is very interested in you.

Usually when I girl "likes" you, she will try to impress you,
and she will smile and look into your eyes alot.
Also if you catch her staring at you, that may also be an indication. If you see that she treats you in a more special way then her other guy friends, she might want to take it to the next level.

You can't, Luke Skywalker... You just have to risk it all or remain a cadet... Everybody's so SCARED of rejection - ("ooo, the pain, William...") - that nobody's willing to ask the other out... Plus, there's the awkward embarassment factor, too...

But, if she says "yes!"..? Well, we'll never know, will we...?
"Trust your feelings, Luke..."

If she is nervous around you or when she talks to you she has very short conversations she wants to be more than a friend. Also her reaction towards you when you are around other females

If you notice that she tries to spend morretime with you than with her other friends and if she stares at you and tell you nice tings like "you smell nice" or somethign like that. You should do the same and if she doesn't get boderd by it then she wants somethign with oyu.

Talk to her some more, get to know her better. No need to leap into the "relationship" thing like a starving man...

If she stares at your mouth or your crotch, there's a good indication she wants more than a friendship.
