why don' the new comers to fla. read up through out the good weather to get ready too! I am a native and have been through it all and don't ever have to get together at the last min. for the storms I get all things need month by month on sale before the stormseason starts and have shown other how to do the same shame shame for those who take it as joke when things are about to happen then cry for thier losses What an easy way to rip off the gov. shame on those who care not for the one'''''s who really are hurt by the weather.

because they are procrastinaters .And say they know what they need and it wont take long to get it all together.

Yes, people get nuts. It happens ever year. The problem is that most of these people have been through a couple of awful storms and get all bent out of shape every time it rains. Just because life is the way it is... the next time they dont go nuts... we'll get another Hurricane Andrew or Katrina. That's why people get nuts b/c when you have been through a storm like one of those... you never forget.

You gotta talk to them.

Florida has the reputation of being the "sunshine state", you know, the state motto, or whatever that would be called?

It is deceiving. Protest to get the motto changed to something like: "you will be lucky to survive a year here", and that would dissuade people from moving there for the sunny weather!
