Just do it, email, letters, or call and just let them know you have a stammer and to be patient with you. What are you doing to help your stammer? My brother used to have a really bad stammer and someone gave him the advice to sing alot around the house. Believe me he was not a good singer at all! However he does not have a stammer at all anymore. try it, sing around the house as much as you can and it will go away.

best of luck to you and ignore the ignorant responses you are getting

I don't see a need to approach potential employers any differently because you have a stammer. Show them what you've got in a fantastic CV and be great in the interview. Having a stammer does not stop you from being a good accountant and it would be illegal for any company to not employ you for that reason.
Good luck and try not to get worked up about it. If you come across as being uncomfortable in an interview, it will make them uncomfortable so just relax and be yourself!

I have a stammer too and you shouldn't let it get in the way of anything you want to do. Now because of the publicity of stammers, nobody thinks its something to laugh at anymore. Just go for it and become a good accountant, a stammer doesn't get in the way of adding up figures does it.

By "stammer" I'm assuming you stutter a little when you speak? That should have nothing to do with your ability to perform accountancy. In fact, if a prospective employer discriminates against you for that "handicap", you may have rights to sue for discrimination. You don't need to tell a prospective employer about your "problem" because you probably won't be required to have above average speaking skills for the job. Now - if let's say you want to be a telemarketer...you may have a problem because a good speaking voice is a pre-requisite for the job...good luck and keep your chin up!

Just be yourself. You cant help the fact that you have a stammer and this has nothing to do with how capable you are of doing the job.
If I was you I would make sure that your potential employers are aware of your condition and just try to be relaxed when you go in for a interview.

Good Luck

A lot of people do just relax and talk slower when you start to stammer people that are use to dealing with others do not laugh they just realize and Waite for you to finish what your saying.
I understand its embarrassing but when you start talking and when your not made fun of you will realize and it will be easier.

good luck.
try to see what you going to say on a piece of paper in your mind and read it from there you will see it will be easier.

don't even pay attention to the first people who answered u, there are many successful stammers in this world, so don't be brought down, just go to them and explain your situation, i'm sure they'll understand. Good luck.

With as much confidence as you can muster; if you don't feel confident with speech write up a letter of explanation to bring with you to employers. Everyone has something they don't like about themselves or that could be detrimental...confronting your impediment head on and showing it doesn't stop you from being an assertive, confident person shows qualities employers love.

My cousin has a stammer and he talks in a rythmic flow. It takes practice but he doesn't have too much trouble any more.
