I am planning on upgrading my windows from winxp sp1 to sp2 using a cd. Will the drivers get erased?

No... unless during the process you have windows xp do a clean install, ie reformatting hard drive and reinstalling everything.

some yes and some no - you can always go to this web site (http://www.mypccenter.com) and choose the drivers page and scan if your computer is updated with the latest drivers.
i am using this all the time - very cool service.
