The end of the world has been near ever since the first human became conscious of both his death and a future. Assuming for the sake of argument, though, that the end of the world is near, I would not bother with a firearm. What would be the point?

I'm already as is I have a M-1 carbine and a 30 carbine ruger revolver and a 22 cal ruger revolver for plinking. My weapons are lite powerful enough and very easy to clean. My weapons are extremely reliable no jams in 10 years of shooting usually 1,000 rounds a year. So you keep your fancy toys I'll stick with what's practical for a civilian to own.

If I had to pick just one, I'd say the M4 carbine. It's small enough to be used in tight situations, but also fairly accurate at a distance. I have experience with it, and parts and ammo would be plentiful in my area.

I have 2 pistols, rifles have too much of a "kick" but if it is the end of the world? Am I having to defend myself? I'd get a rifle, more bang for the buck.
