Maybe instead of finding a good DUI attorney to get him off -- maybe he should go to AAA and stop drinking while he is driving.
Thank God he was only on a motorcycle and not in a big 18 wheeler while he was drinking -- please get him help first.

In TX when you go in for DWI you get a Temporary Driving Permit form good for 40 days after the offense. Check with your state, this will allow your hubby to drive, and give him plenty of time to keep working while straightening things out with DPS, Commercial Driver's license holders in most states are held to higher standards, ex: not being able to take def.driving, and he may be held to a more rigorous punishment for that same reason.........he should have considered the consequences of saving 20 bucks on the taxi.....

Depending upon his past history, military service, raising family, a first time still usually offers a conditional for work as the vehicle was not auto for example. Finding the best lawyer is the most costly for an average case providing no damage or injuries occured. Many lawyers will get the same results at different fees so sit in court and watch cases until court date, if there is time.

The fine for an extreme DUI conviction, when a driver has a blood alcohol content of 0.15 percent or above, increases from $700 to $1,700.
Title 28-1382: Driving Under the Influence with a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of .15 or more (Extreme DUI)
ARS 28-1382
It is unlawful for a person to drive or be in actual physical control of a motor vehicle in this state if the person has an alcohol concentration of 0.15 or more within two hours of driving or being in actual physical control of the vehicle. A person who is convicted of a violation of this section is guilty of driving or being in actual physical control of a vehicle while under the extreme influence of intoxicating liquor. A conviction of Extreme DUI is considered a misdemeanor criminal conviction.

I think you are going to have to pull the weight financially for awhile then...the courts dont take to well to drinking and driving in ANY country. My father was a State Trooper and I can tell you an incident where a man who drank and rode his bike ended up basically part of someones car..not a nice thing at all. Your husband is very foolish to put himself and those around him at such a risk. I hope it all works out for you though.

I've never heard of "extreme dui", but i'd guess it means he was waaaaaaaaaay over the BAC limit..........[ BAC is blood alcohol content ]
You can spend alot on attorneys but if your husband was in fact drunk and if there was any kind of accident or injury to others or their property, it will be difficult to change the fact that he was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. Get a referral to an attorney by calling your local bar association or attorney referral, but don't expect miracles.........a drunk driver is in line for consequences when caught.
