I have a four year old who really wants to go to school, but we can't afford it. I tried getting her into universal pre- K but it is all filled up. She is sad that everybody is going to nursery school and she isn't. We do the library things, but she is really ready for kindergarden but a year too younge. Does anybody know of any free or very low rates on pre-school?

i doubt u will find any free preschool, especially in long island. You will be lucky if you find low rates. Check the yellow pages and just call for the rates.

school systems, at least in michigan, have free preschool for families who cannot afford private preschools. also some preschools have voucher programs for families. your child can attend for a small fee or free and the school gets money from the government.
