This is a matter of interpretation.

If by "win" you mean "achieve the desired outcome as set in the beginning" and by "war" you mean "a formal declaration of war by congress"

Then we've won every war the US has fought in it's history.

The "Indian Wars" were a policy of the US Indian Affairs and Department of War, and used as a justification of idea of Manifest Destiny.

Korea, Viet-nam, and "Desert Storm" were U.N. sanctioned "police actions" not a war declared by Congress. If you include these events in your definition of war(because they were defacto) the US record is more like this.

Revolutionary War - Win
Barbary Wars - Win
War of 1812 - Win
Mexican-American War - Win
Civil War -Win (Since we fought ourselves, some might call this a draw)
Spanish-American War - Win
World War I - Win
World War II - Win
Korea - Draw
Viet-Nam - Lose
Operation Desert Storm - Win
Operation Enduring Freedom (AKA The Hunt for bin Laden) - DNF
Iraqi Freedom(AKA Bush's Quest for Oil) - In Progress

It's easy to tell by your question that you're not much of a reader. America has a long history of winning wars. You mentioned the Iraq war. It was won in a couple of days.
A war is fought against a uniformed national army. The Iraqi army was defeated in a flash. What is going on now is a fight between Iraqi groups to see who's mullah will take Saddam's place.
Another way to tell you don't read much is by your spelling. It's always an excellent idea to learn as much as you can about a subject before making a fool of yourself.

World War Two - and World War One, although we got involved in the first World War just as it was almost over. There were still about 3 1/2 years of fighting after we got involved in World War Two.

First you need something outside a first grade education to help you with your horrific spelling and grammar. Then maybe you should find the differences between a police action, conflict and war because you obviously have no idea. Why don't you try opening a book.It won't bite you.We saved half of Europe in two world wars with the help of other nations who have since turned their back on us.All of your posts are anti American and without any intelligent thought. So if you're in this country please get the hell out today. If not stay where you are and finish second grade.

Why don't you do some research. I want an essay on why the USA was in every war since the War of 1812. And the results of each war. I want the estimated number of dead in each war next to the time each war lasted.

You forgot to use your whole name. The jack part we understand, but you forgot the @ss part.

Your English is getting much better. I was able to figure out most of your question w/o an interpreter.

The problem we have in the US, is the politicians start these damn conflicts and then want to end them politically, rather than letting the military complex do its job, and achieve unconditional surrender from its enemy.

Every war ever fought other than Vietnam. The Iraq war has been won technically. It might not be as much of a "complete" victory, but it will go down as a W.

Second world war? USA only entered at the very end when all the heavy fighting had been done. US has never won a war except on their own soil, but by golly they are trying. Come out of Iraq and don't you dare enter Iran unless you want to be a loser all over again like that Australian Irwin!
