If it runs well, has decent tires, and wouldn't give you any major problems for at least a few months, then it might be worth it.

Buying (or receiving as a gift) a used car puts all the problems of that car on you.

My son had a neighbor who had an older car that he was offering for only $100. My son bought it and put about $400 into it, but only got to drive it once. That's all it would do for all his trouble and expense.

Be cautious, even with a free one. It still might not be worth the purchase price.

Well considering the Ford Fiesta Plant in Germany caught fire and burned back in 1980 someone is pulling your leg, BUT Ford did replace the Fiesta with Festiva which was on the same lines as the Honda CivicCVCC or Subaru Hatch back as far as free the only 2 you want to run from real fast are Dodge Colt and a bleeping YUGO

It sounds like a good deal, but there is usually no free lunch. If the deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Why would someone give you a car for free if it is a good car that could be sold? (Unless it is a family member being nice to you?) A fifteen year old car with low mileage can still have a lot of problems, simply from sitting in a driveway and not being used, so be prepared to spend some money on it. Then the question becomes is it worth spending money on a car that old? If you do accept it, get it checked by a good mechanic before you drive it.

And you know what they say about Fords - Fix Or Repair Daily,
Found On Road Dead, etc. Best of luck with it, whatever you decide to do.

1. I don't know much about the Fiesta, but you can go online and have a comparison of safety done in it's class of car. Safety is the most important factor to reliable performance in a car.

2. 60,000 miles is low for 15 years. The engine (et. al.) should be checked by a mechanic, and given a good spin on the freeway to blow out junk from the exhaust.

Good luck!

I used to have an old Ford Fiesta in Europe. Good car as far as it is well maintained.

If the car runs it has value. The value may not be much, but even a scrapyard will pay you something for it!!!

If there are no strings attached, how can you go wrong with a free car? Just be sure that the title is able to be legally transferred into your name (no bank liens or the car being reported stolen) and I can not see how you can lose!!!

Not worth your time and money no matter what the condition is.
Remember? It's a Ford Fiesta!

free? if it's free, how can you go wrong? honestly, if it only has 60,000 miles and it's free, and it has all necessary parts (motor, e.g.), then go for it. even if it turns out to be a piece of junk, you should be able to get $500 at least for it.

lucky...

enjoy the car.

Yes, these cars are generally fairly robust as long as the bodywork is structurally sound. Walk away if there is any major rust. Most spare parts are cheap and running costs are low.

It's free of course it's worth it. If you didn't take it you'd have to get your head examined. Sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet and drive something you're embarrassed to be seen in. If you really don't like it, sell it and get something else.
