Was it her first? Sometimes in the beginning it can be either short or longer, but they begin to balance out. I had a female dog that we were going to breed and she never had long cycles, also she usually only had one a year. After getting her hips certified, finding a stud (a couple of times) found out she couldn't go full term when pregnant either. You might want to get her checked especially if you are thinking about breeding. The nipple enlarging thing is normal, I've never had a female dog whose nipples went to the size they were before going into heat the first time, but that should balance too.
As for chihuahua lady - maybe she should look into a husky and relax a little she's starting to act like her breed of choice - we all knew what you meant.

She can be pregnant. You should take her to your vet to have her x-rayed to see if she is or not. If she is, get her spayed immediately. It will cost more because she is pregnant, but it will be much cheaper in the long run....it's either that or prenatal care, welping (she may have trouble and you'd have an emergency visit to your vet), and of course caring for all the puppies. Have her spayed asap!

It is not a period, it is a heat cycle. A dog's nipples will swell when they are in heat. Even if she got bred, she will not show for a few weeks yet.

dogs are pregnant for fifty 8-sixty 3 days. I count number from the frist time is see them tri-up. in the beginning she wont instruct aby indications. yet even as she receives closer too about 40-45days she will be able to begain to eat alittle bit more effective and she or he should be alitte fatter than typical. at 50-fifty 5 days you are able to taje her to the vet and he can do an x-ray on her to perchance see what percentage doggies she ought to have,,

Did she encounter any male dogs??
What you are describing happens to my Rottie after she's in heat. I think it happens because there is an increase in hormones. Her nipples go back to their usual size a couple of weeks after she's done being in heat.
