First I have a college degree, I have never been on welfare, and I do not have access or live, where there is public transportation...and if you think my question is just about driving you are wrong....pay attention...at where our government is headed am not a crybaby either, Think people.....! perhaps you will find yourself in a situation where you demand your rights...and find that you have none....think beyond this specific subject matter.Its supposed to be government for the people, by the people. Not government by the politicians, for the people...when was the last time you actually were ask for your input on laws going before congress or your state represenitive. Truth is at the time of the Boston Tea party incident,we were ready to go to war because they were imposing excessive taxes on tea..today we just bend over and take it.....Says a lot doesnt it................

Yes, it says you don't take your role as a citizen seriously enough. If you want to ask when was the last time you were asked for some specific input about laws going before Congress, I ask you when was the last time you made your voice, or wants, known clearly enough for Congress to hear you. Congressmen and women are available for you to be heard, but you have to DO SOMETHING, more than just sit back with useless wishing or whining or bitching on Yahoo Answers about the "problems" as you see them. Get off your DEAD ASSS and DO SOMETHING!!! If you want something changed, MAKE YOURSELF HEARD AND RECOGNIZED!!!! We are the BIGGEST government/business on planet earth, and so you have to go through the channels of communication in order to be heard. If we just listened to every bit of bitchin' and whining everyone had to spew forth, we'd be like those african things who keep having coups here and there and therefore keep looking like the apes and chimps they're often accused of being since they never get past square 1. The same is true of south american and central american "nations" who are so consistently mismanaged and therefore broke and so controlled by violence that they get no where either. If you want something done, DO IT!!!! And see where the channels are, just like any sea captain has to know where the sea channels are to navigate the ocean intelligently and effectively. But it takes a lot of energy and determination and dedication to get the job done here. Be damned glad of it. Consistency is a prime factor of this country. Contribute to it, and move for the changes you want. There are plenty of people who agree with you, but somebody's got to do it. It might as well be you, so, DO IT!!!! God Bless you.

Where I live, people are encourage to call & speak with their congressman or women, but the average person has to want to talk. I also fill out the surveys that are sent home from the local representatives. All you have to do is talk. Being an American starts with you and what you are willing to do for your country, if you don"t like the ways things are changing- you need to do something about it locally.
