I have no problem with Islam. I do, however, have a major problem with the way some Muslims interpret Islam. Having a religious belief does not give you way to trample others (figuratively or otherwise). Having a religious belief does not make you judge, jury, and executioner of those who don't share your beliefs.

I also have a major problem with the Muslims of the world who aren't extremists, who don't wish "death to all who oppose Allah." My problem with them is that they need to stand up and say so. They cower under the threat of violence from THEIR OWN PEOPLE. I understand very well that action might not be possible over there, but what about here? Why can't the Muslims who have chosen to live in the US, England, Australia, Canada, Germany, and countless other nations where having a different opinion won't get you killed by your government or religious leaders, be more vocal against the few who are giving your religion such a bad face?

Silence is just another form of compliance. I sincerely wish the Muslims of the world who are able, because of where they live, would stand up for themselves and their religion. Nothing was ever changed by keeping quiet about it. This is absolutely no different.

The misunderstandings about Islam began deliberately with the first ever translation of The Qur'an in a European language. The nonMuslim Orientalists denounce that translation as a deliberate concoction.. By now, several nonMuslims have translated the holy Qur'an, very accurately, in all European languages. But the damage has been done by the first translation which was the only one for centuries. Unfortunately, the preachers have spread the canards, based on the first translation.** Let there be Inter Religious Dialogue Associations in all countries and regions to attain world peace. It is the need of the hour. This Yahoo/ forum is a noble group to win friendships with 'others'. Most participants are sober and serious.

I am glad if you see your religion as peaceable and beneficial, and it's good that you are so pious, but let me make one observation. All those good thoughts and behaviors, by Mohammed's own words, apply only to other Muslim. If you doubt me, go back and read more carefully.
Islam is a religious sytem aimed at fostering the status quo--that's the way things are, if you don't know Latin--and promoting itself. Perhaps the terrorists are being a little too public and rabid with their cause, but it is the cause for which Islam stands, a goal to which it has been aimed since its inception.
And, how it is that you can bewail how poorly the world thinks of Muslims, yet happily smear Jewish believers with the term impious? They are, individually, as pious or impious as any Muslim you know. Impiety is just a less immediate risk to them than to Muslims. Didn't Mohammed claim kinship with Israel through Abraham? And if so, then aren't the Jews your brothers also? I think this is a bit of a disconnect--maybe you ought to give that a bit of thought, before you complain about how misunderstood you are.

It is a shame that the sins of a few reflect on the whole. The same thing is also true for Christianity; the sins of a few Christians, and you have many who would deny Him from that alone (the number of such people on this service should be an indicator to that).

I don't know if you have an Islamic equivalent to the following verses:

"And Jesus answered and said to them, "Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish." - Luke 13: 2-3

... but I take comfort in these verses, knowing that I ought not to worry about the sins of the few or even of the many, for in the end it will be my own personal standing with God that would matter...

I have no religious affiliation despite the shoving it down my throat by my parents. However, I do believe in the rights (and responsibilities) of others to practice as they see fit. I don't think any religion, per se, is problematic. What, or more correctly, who causes problems are fanatics of any kind. I believe that human beings should be free to practice and carry their own beliefs, even fanatics, but should not be permitted by any religion or authority to inflict their particular beliefs on others. If no woman complains about hijab, fine. If one complains, she should be allowed the freedom to dress and behave as she sees fit. The world is too small to be fighting over religion. When I was young and pretty, I would have hated to completely cover myself. I loved being whistled at by construction workers! However, now that I am an old fat lady, I dress myself in long, loose, comfortable clothing that hides most of my lumpy body. As for the prayers 5 times a day, that is nobody's business but your own. Lots of people pray more often than that, such as, please god, let me make this traffic light, or have enough in my checking account to feed the kids, or don't let me have an asthma attack today! Life is just a bowl of cherries - don't take it serious. It's too mysterious. Live and let live!

In answer for your questions: No international faith is the splendid faith, please comprehend that. you do not should be muslim to quickly. Any faith can attempt this. reckoning on your age, it isn't incorrect to have premarital sex. All prophets were visited via spirits....even some human beings were. Marriage is a own ingredient, and has no longer some thing to do with faith. As its religious beween 2 human beings and is born from the middle. No faith extremely is definitely-known with of what takes position after lack of existence. they basically positioned out a preconceived idea. yet haven't any more all started to instruct it. Jesus, like each and every of the others replaced right into a prophet. some religions prefer to positioned some prophets before dor above others. yet in the sight of all it really is holy, they're non-the a lot less all an same. actual spirituality won't be able to be latest in a e book. you need to seem interior your self. in case you are able to't locate it there, you gained't locate it outside your self. Someone just answered that he is ignorant in Islam. That is a good start. If people would only learn about the religion, they would learn all the good parts. Islam makes alot more sense than Christianity does. I find the religion has so much to offer. I am Jewish, and I have great respect for those who live their Islam as it should be lived.

No religion is good or bad in itself. "Good" or "bad" applies to how humans interpret it.
In the middle ages christians interpreted their religion (which says "Love thy neighbor") as commanding to kill everyone who does not believe that Jesus is God. In the past they even killed a lot of those who just practised Christianity a bit differently (Orthodox, Lutheran etc.) But Christianity is a loving religion... As loving as any other. It's the people who twist their own sacred books to fit their political ends. And it does happen with Islam now.
And anohter thing... Terrorists just make so much noise in the press that the voice of the vast majority of Muslims, which, I'm sure, is not violent, is just not heard...

I think that Islam is a good religion as are the other major faiths.
I also think you are also an optimist of the first order in your beliefs as to how everyone in Iran feels about and views others and other religions.
I hope for all our sakes that you are right . It is about time we all put prejudice aside and started seeing the good in each other.
Stay strong

I really don't like the thought of religions I think they seperate people instead of uniting them and plus your religion has alot to do with where you are geographically. In most cases. As long as everyone believes in a God or atleast something positive then there should be peace. We are all human beings capable of doing, thinking and believing different things so how is one religion going to be enough to satisfy everyone spiritually.
