They say that if you don't keep it in a cool dark place it will lose flavor. Sam Adams beer makes a point in their commercial of saying that they take back stale beer (year old) from distributors so customers won't complain. Open it and try some. If it isn't great for drinking use it for cooking stuff like beer-battered shrimp or beer-mustard chicken.

Most beers do have a limited life span. There should be a date stamped on the bottle somewhere. It doesn't hurt to open it and taste it though. If it's not up to your standards you can always use it in cooking. Good for cooking crabs or put in a dish like beef strips, stroganoff, etc.

Beer does not get skunked with age!

Heineken does not have a shelf life. Your bottle is stale by now.

There is a date stamped on the bottle' Its there for a reason. Beer goes stale un like Rum, Vodka ect.

All beer goes bad, no matter what the type. DO NOT DRINK IT! Better to save it as a collector item.

It can go skunked. but if you left it in your fridge go for it! If not use it for cooking. Never let a beer go to waste.

Beer especially in light coloured glass will be very skunky after 3 yrs.
