1. Laugh at his pictures.
2. Depersonalize your memories with him. For example, if you went to the movies and had a fabulous time together, think of the memory and then imagine that he treated you horribly instead. It will twist your brain a little, but it's a good way to devalue the memory and therefore the emotional connection associated to it.
3. Date others.
4. Play sports. Seriously. Sports make you focus on one thing only: Catch the ball!

Everyone is telling you to keep your mind off him by taking up a new hobby, getting on top of someone else. etc. etc. i can honestly say NONE of these have worked for me. the only thing that got me over my ex's was by making a concious effort to act and think like they did'nt exist. i just pretended they had been deported to another planet and their body was now inhabited by some weird, very unnattractive stranger! cos if you think about it, the guy you fell for and the guy thats hitting on your friend now are 2 totally different ppl! thats what it should seem like. theres a better guy out there whose body is'nt inhabited by some weird creep! i promise. the quicker you can get over your ex boyfriend, the quicker you'll be able to meet your new man.

it's always hard to stop thinking about a person that you love. i had a fiance and we had broken up a total of 6 times. but you know me i have to figure out why it won't work so i give it another shot. well, this time i just knew that no matter what, it just wasn't going to work. For me to get her off my mind was to keep on thinking of the things that i want in a woman and started looking at all of the crap that i had to deal with. staying busy is a great way to keep your mind clear though. and believe it or not griping is a great stress reliever, that way you won't be tempted to get depressed. never let yourself get that low. nobody is worth that. i hope things work out with you

Had the same thing happen to me last week. Was in tears one minute and then raving mad the next. Problem is mine baled on me just like that. Frankly I was just plain disappointed in him. Things happen in life for a reason and usually you just go through the normal period of grief and then get yourself back up and move on with life. Keep yourself busy, hang out with friends, talk with your family, engage in activities. Basically just get your mind off thinking about him. It worked for me. I feel good and I learned something valuable - you don't need a partner to make you happy or make you feel complete. We have that within us ourselves, its just a matter of finding yourself. Frankly him breaking up with me was the best thing that happened to me, I think I would have ended up being disappointed too many times by him.

get busy. Take up a hobby, volunteer your time so you will feel appreciated, do something for yourself, seek out new friends.

Don't look back. You need to mourn the end of the dreams you had with that person, but make sure you take time to look ahead to new goals and adventures.

Good Luck

well if you really want to forget him, you shouldn't play any of those good memories or you'll miss him. you shouldn't play bad ones either coz they just stress you out. make a list of things to do everyday (like hanging w/ ur girls)... and whenever you think of him, remind yourself "it's over". there are lots of other guys out there who deserve you ;) (it really works for me...)
