yes it can happen (not like smurf blue ). everyone has translucency in their teeth and some people have blue undertones that have always been there the whitening just makes it more noticeable it's not uncommon

Where did you hear that one? No, that is absolutely not true. There is no blue dye in the gel so there is nothing to turn the teeth blue. Now, whitening your teeth does somewhat make the edges translucent, so that could be what they were talking about.
