you might major in criminology, and once out of school you can usually get a job simply by having a bachelors degree by working for the F.B.I.
A paralegal certification usually takes 9 months to a year and may look good with this - an easy route - but isn't really related to this type of interest but might look good with a criminology degree. (I'm a paralegal).
Find a friend on the police force, even though it's 'blue collar', I'm sure they can shed some light on this and ster you toward either law or criminal justice.

Criminal justice is one area. Check with your local law enforcement academy to find out more. If you are on good terms with one of your local law enforcement, ask him/her about education. Interrogation and investigative techniques are skills law enforcement need and are trained for.

I think you want Criminal Justice. Thats where all the people who have something to do with the law but aren't lawyers go. (investigators, forensic analyists etc.)

Highschool or GED will work. They are called police officers, or detectives. But a degree wouldn't hurt. Maybe criminal justice.
