Secure the southern border
The U.S. population is almost 300 million now. Since the Bush administration announced its intent to grant amnesty to the estimated 7 million undocumented primarily Mexican aliens living illegally in the U.S., the numbers have swelled. Estimates of the numbers of illegals range from 11 million to 40 million. That fact alone—that estimates vary by 29 million—should be of some concern to the Bush administration and its department of Homeland Security. But instead, American airline passengers can no longer travel with their own water or toothpaste. Thousands pour in every day. While we must show compassion for many of those attempting to flee the country of their birth for better lives in America, we must realize that Bush administration immigration "policy" will play a huge role in whatever horrible scenario is planned for all of us. The evidence shows that politicians on both sides of the border have created this problem because they know the inevitable outcome of resultant cultural tensions is violence. Take a look at the story on pages 16-17. Those who are pulling our strings believe that wars are for poor people to die in so that rich people can get richer. Both Mexicans and Americans are being used.2006

The lifetime fiscal impact (taxes paid minus services used) for the average adult Mexican illegal alien on the average American taxpayer is $55,000 over a five-year span. You personally are giving $11,000 every year to illegal aliens.

The immigrating section of Yahoo answers has become infested with illegal alien sympathizers. Above I notice their same old rhetoric.
They call you racist. They say these facts and statistics are made up, etc.
It is not "racist" to want our immigration laws enforced. It is not "racist" to not want to pay $1000 per year in extra taxes to go to illegal aliens.
All these facts can be verified using any search engine (Google, Yahoo, MAN, etc.)
I will note that illegal immigration is not about race, ethnicity, or nationality. Illegal aliens come from all races and all countries.
Preventing illegal immigration is about enforcing our nations laws.
To those above who pointed out the cost of the Iraq war: I do not like the Iraq war any more than you and am well aware of the fact Bush lied to us about WMD in Iraq.
To the guy above who pointed out the federal budget deficit: I don't like it any more than you do. I am no Republican. I am not a Democrat either. I am a Libertarian. I must point out that the Congress was controlled by Democrats for 40 years before the Republicans took over Congress in 1994. They ran the deficit and debt up more than the Republicans are now. I don't like federal tax revenue paying for weapons of war, a bloated military, welfare to those who refuse to work, and foreign aid that lines the pockets of some third world dictator anymore than you do.

I might pay nearly $11K a year in taxes if you include state and local taxes. I'd be surprised if 10% is going to benefit illegal aliens. Check Snopes on the numbers provided above. Some of them are questionable. Now the one number that galls me is there are 21 Spanish stations in LA when the last country and western station there recently converted to another format.
The forces driving the Latin immigration are strong. It's globalization. I find it interesting that globalization was developed by those conservative icons Thatcher and Reagan and supported in the US by all subsequent Presidents.
If we are successful at significantly reducing illegal immigration, it won't be cheap. Then look for unexpected consequences like a leftist regime on our southern border. If you put the genie back in the bottle the social forces pushing illegals here are quite apt to pop up elsewhere.

ALL the statistics you quote are wrong. I don't have time to go through each one so I'll just address this one:
More than 66% of all births in California are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.
THE TRUTH: The California Vital Records Department of the Department of Health Services classified as "Hispanic" the race/ethnicity of 62.7% of all births occurring in Los Angeles county in 2001. The statistic you quote therefore erroneously characterizes all parents of Hispanic heritage in Los Angeles County in 2001 as being "illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal."
