You are sounding too much like a victim here. This is your stuff and he is your EX. You have a right to your stuff, based on what was clearly an agreement between the two of you. So in order to no longer be victim, assert yourself by doing the following:
1) Give him a choice of dates and times and tell him to choose one;
2) Get a good buddy, family member, especially a male and show up with whatever vehicle you need to accomplish the task;
3) Do all this in a very nice and conciliatory way, for example saying to him in an email:
Dear Ex:
I realize how busy you must be, because it has taken a while to get my stuff back to me. I value our amicabililty and want to keep our friendship. At the same time I want to get our past behind us so we can move forward. That said, how about I come over with Mr. Cousin/Uncle and pick up my stuff. I want to do it when it is convenient for you. How do the following times work:.........times.
I hope this helps, Talk soon, Your EX!
Then change locks. A good idea anyway!

Change the locks immediately. Set up a date or time to get the stuff. If that date passes, then take further action. Although things may seem amicable now, you never know what an ex might do, so change the locks just to be safe. Even if you get the keys back a copy could have been made.
Update:
Well, now we know it is a "she" and a year has past. Make a phone call and get the stuff back. If she doesn't want to return it, then get over it, and move on. You should have got the stuff a long time ago. Suprised she doesn't try to charge you storage or something.

Change your locks, write a letter( in the letter set and give a time limit and state what happens if said time limit is passed such as legal actions, keep a copy of said letter and send the original certified mail with a signed receipt and keep the signed receipt. After your things are acquired back don't keep in touch with this person.

Call and offer to come over with a friend to pick it up from his place to "save him the trouble of dropping it off." After you get it ask about the key. If you don't get the key pay to have your door lock changed. In fact if he doesn't help at all go for the lock change ASAP.

It is better to give a date that you will be there so that he can return the things. That way he has a set time and place to get them back.
