Coke IS sold in Cuba. Cans come from Madrid, Spain. That's what it says on the cans anyway. Maybe bottles too, I don't know. I only bought a few cans while I was there.

Syria doesn't sell Coke because its a western product, or specifically American. They also have no McDonalds or pretty much any fast food outlets and also none of the major western shops ie. Gap, Starbucks, etc, etc. I don't know if Myanmar and Cuba restrict the sale of Coke for the same reason, or if its just because Pepsi has a stranglehold in those places.
Syria is very anti any western products.

I just returned from Cuba and yes, I did buy a 2 l. bottle of Coca Cola, albeit made in Mexico and the taste was not the same as that of 'Canadian' Coca Cola. I paid 2.70 CUC (i.e., almost $3 US)
