I definutley animal cruelty should stop. I have a next door neighbor and although they are nice and good people, they have a dog that lives outside, chained to a basketball goal. I've only seen them walk that dog once and that was when he was a pup and it was the first day they got him. Now he is never petted or played with. Animals that are abused don't know any better life. They act mean not because they are, but because they are scared! Wouldn't you be?? I can't stand to watch a that animal cop show though cause I can't stand to see an animal in pain and see them suffering. I think what those cop people are doing for those animals are great! And the people that tortured those little animals are being put in jail! What more can you do? I use to want to be a Vet but I've decided I couldn't stand to see those little animals hurt. I would love to help them but I see them all cut up and stuff. I hate humans. We are so mean! We humans ruin our planet, the animals, and all of the natural things that used to be around us. Think of what our planet would be like if we weren't here! It would e so peaceful (pretty much) and those animals wouldn't die because of us wanting fur coats and crap like that. The only reason the animals would die is because of another animal or old age! We do so many horrible things to animals and to other people. What more do we have to do to make people understand what they are doing wrong?

Yes, unfortanately, many people don't realize that having a pet is a big responsibility. Then, after they get the pet at home, they want to get rid of it cause its too much work for them. I think people need to be educated before getting a pet. A dog or a cat is not like a piece of junk that you can just throw away if you don't like it. Animals have feelings. At the very least, if a person cannot take care of their pet, they should bring it to a no-kill shelter. There are a few around, like "PAWS," that don't kill unwanted pets, but rather find homes for them. You have my full support on this one.

I wonder why people harm poor dogs. They don't do anything to people in the first place. I was watching a show about an ASPCA in Houston and they showed a trio of dogs that were starving and their owners fed them a lot at once. A brown mix named Rio got a distended stomach and almost died. (He had surgery and over five pounds of dog food was removed!!)

Cruelty to all innocence is barbaric. But if we as a people cannot stop the cruelty inflicted upon our fellow man, how can we expect the cruelty against animals to be erradicated. It is a sad state.

yes. i think alot of steps need to be taken. i think many more people should spay or neuter their pet to reduce overpopulation and the vast number of strays that are starving to death and being run over. the second is animal testing and furs and other forms of cruelty. its just not right. i commend organizations like the wwf and peta. i think more people need to take a bigger part in stopping animal cruelty.

It should be but it won't. People cant even come to terms with respecting other human beings let alone an animal which is still considered by many as an inferior being!

Oh, yes definitely! Animals may not be people, but they're the next closest thing and they should be treated with the same respect as people. They are living things too.

Let me answer with the lines of a poem by an English poet...

Hurt No Living Thing
From Christina Rosetti

Hurt no living thing;
Ladybird, nor butterfly,
Nor moth with dusty wing,
Nor cricket chirping cheerily,
Nor grasshopper so light of leap,
Nor dancing gnat, nor beetle fat,
Nor harmless worms that creep

I totally agree. why get an animall if you cant take care of it. Animals are like people in a way. they get sad they need love. They love attention. I love animals and people should have a heart and love them too instead of beating them or ignoring them etc......animal power lol-I am not that extreme lol
