Don't worry. It doesn't sound as if there's anything wrong with your daughter or your singing/dancing. Some children are natural performers who enjoy these things while others are a bit shy and can feel a bit intimidated when others get too excited. I don't think children mind very much whether their parents are talented or not. They are too young to be able to tell the difference. Just carry on with your singing and dancing but just don't get too rowdy in case you scare her. In time, she'll get used to it and might even join in. Your daughter is too young to be embarrassed by your singing and dancing. Wait till she's a teenager and then you would know!

Our 3 year old doesn't dance or sing like her sisters...she will if it's just her and them, but if we come in the room she stops and gets really shy. She does not like to perform, but with encouragement is coming around.

My son is almost 3, and he's the same way. At this age they are developing self conscious, self esteem, from what I know it seems that he's just afraid of being laughed at. Dont worry about it, just keep encouraging. My son is finally coming around. Also he could just not like to dance.

Ah, that's toddlers. Who knows why they get notions of things? Personally, my son would rather hear a chain saw rip through piles of sheet metal than listen to me sing. So rest assured, you're not alone.

hehe. it sounds perfectly normal. just explain to her that mommy and daddy dont have to sound good, they can sound silly and thats just fine. anyone is allowed to sing and dance, theres no right way to do it.
thats so cute. and so normal.

its probably because she feels like you are stealing the spotlight. maybe you should try just encouraging her for a while and see how that works
