My wisdom teeth started coming in at age 17, but I have a friend at work who's going to be out next week because he is having his wisdom teeth out. He is 27. Don't sweat it!

Don't worry if they haven't come in yet. Some people don't have them cut through until they're in their 20's. But if you're worried, the next time you're at the dentist he'll probably take x-rays anyway just to see any cavities that might not be visible to the naked eye. The x-rays will show the positions of the wisdom teeth and if they're starting to come in or if they're going to need to be surgically removed to prevent problems. There's lot of info on the web about wisdom teeth coming in late. Don't worry.

Normally between 17 and 21 but a lot of times they are impacted and unable to erupt. It's a good age for you to go visit a dentist and have them take an xray to check the status of the wisdom teeth. Good luck.

18 sounds kind of early for wisdom teeth to appear. And often they don't appear, just get impacted because they're growing in the wrong direction. I had mine removed at 22. One was partially out, the rest were impacted.

Dont be in a rush to get them cos they bloody hurt when they come thru. All you can taste is blood and you have a constant ache. Not pleasant. I have unfortunately had 5 - yes 5!! - I had 4 out and i got an extra one. They can be a real nuisance - i had one impacted and had to have it cut into bits at hospital and removed bit by bit, i had one which needed some of my jaw to be sawn off to get it out. The super numery (extra one) is the only one i got left and when it came out i was about 25/26 - it was pushing the tooth in front and it was decided to take that one out cos it had been filled and the wisdom tooth took its place. Believe me they cause you alot of pain...why do we even have them in the first place?

Yes sometimes they do. But some people never get them. If the wisdom tooth is 2 big the dentist should take it out i think, thats what i been told
