Ouch. If the truth is painful ... it hurts. Being brave means facing painful truths.

The truth is, the war in Iraq is a senseless war of aggression .. thus, an INSULT to the soldiers who enlisted to protect our country from aggression. It is a politicians war, the product of some very bizarre manipulations, still unjustified on the same terms it was sold to the public.

What else can we do?

First, educate yourself, and acknowledge the above. Second, write to your state and federal representatives ... Congressmen & Sentors, Governors. Even State representatives belong to the two parties, and a message to them will reverberate at Federal levels.

Third, resolve NEVER AGAIN to blindly support such aggression, to ACTIVELY question your government, forever more.

Finally, be thankful that there is still time and opportunity to make a difference.

Who you like some cheese with that whine? Every war ever fought has been of aggression. Man has been fighting since he figured out he could kill each other. You don't think there has been BILLIONS of people before us that think war is wrong?? It's in our nature, it will not end, so you might as well get over it and support the side of the fence you are on. I'm glad our men/women kill so skillfully, our government maybe fighting for the wrong reason but our soldiers fight to protect us and give others a chance to live freely. So try and boot the government out and see what difference it makes, very damn little I promise you that. There will continue to be wars fought, because there will always be one man believing his way is the right way and he'll be ready to die/kill to prove it.

its not a proufound statement. it does however contain truth. First off ALL wars are started or are a result of political actions. As Clausewitz said "War is an extension of politics by other means". There is nothing Wrong with our soldiers doing thier duty. Furthermore its not a soldiers place to question orders. All wars are "wars of agression" Ive never seen a war where agression wasnt part of the plan. Agression is a prerequisite for victory. I support my Government 100% and while i may not always agree with what it does i am behind it 100%.

Eurodite,
I think you have finally caught on - good for you, and I respect your post. You are now concentrating on fixing the problem rather than attacking those who give you the right to make posts such as this (the Soldiers). Thank you, and good luck in your educational and political crusade!

This is a right worth fighting and if necessary, dying for.

Still at it eh?

Guess you would rather see another three thousand Americans die. It would just tickle you to death wouldn't it?

You do not enter conflict without waging war. We gave Saddam plenty of time to cooperate, plenty of space to simply shut down his WMD program, and yet he continued to mock the world. UN inspectors were not allowed to enter the country, the slaughter of thousands, and much more.

But your happy sitting there with your keen wit and put down the Soldiers, Government, and America. You are the epitomy of what a loser is.

Head back into McDonald and give me my damn fries.

The war being "senseless" is not truth. It is an opinion.

Its not profound..it does, however, make sense.

Support the lads that are dying for Bush and Blair, show your anger at the aggressive wars..a real patriot asks 'why'

I have written congressmen, senators, President since day one. I've been against this war and although the US decided to go ahead (despite my best efforts) I do feel we have to make our voices heard. I can only hope that we can learn some hard lessons from this preemptive war. It's just too bad it's taken so many lives and countless billion dollars to learn. Good thoughts, thanks for posting.
