The Oriental is widely regarded as one of Bangkoks top hotels, and of course you will pay the price to stay there, but if money is no object you will be hard pushed for a better choice.The Shangri la is also top notch as is The Mandarin...but to be honest there are lots of really high class hotels in Bangkok....if it was wanting the best for someone, The Oriental gets my vote

The Oriental, Mandarin Hotel. Its absolutely fantastic. Your own personal butler. Absolutely superb

The recently opened Peninsula hotel, from the Peninsula group (it has hotels in HK, Beverly Hills among others).

If you can afford the Oriental there really is no better. Several levels lower, I've tried the Marriott and found it a bit disappointing.

Just don't stay in the Bangkok Hilton....you won't like it there!
