Basic Pie Crust
Serving Size : 2 9-inch pie crusts
2-1/4 cups All-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Sugar
10 tablespoons Chilled butter, lard or shortening -- cut small pieces
4-1/2 tablespoons Ice water
Combine flour and salt in a medium bowl. Add butter or lard and cut into flour using your fingers, a pastry blender or 2 knives, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in water with a fork, 1 tablespoon at a time and work in with your hands until dough is just moist enough to come together in a smooth ball. You may not need to use all the water. Be careful not to overwork or dough will be tough.
If you're making 2 crusts, cut in half and shape each half into a flattened round. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes.
Remove 1 round of dough from refrigerator and place on a lightly-floured surface. Roll into a circle about 14 inches across and 1/8-inch thick. Gently fold dough in half, then in half again so that you can lift it without tearing, and unfold it into a 9-inch pie or tart pan.
Crimp edges or pinch in a decorative border. Fill and bake as directed in recipe. Dough may be prepared up to 2 days in advance and refrigerated, or frozen.

Apple Pie
8 servings
1/2 recipe Basic Pie Crust
3/4 cups sugar
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
6 cups thinly sliced, pared, tart apples
2 tablespoons butter
Heat thr oven to 425ºF.
Prepare pastry and line pie pan.
Mix dry ingredients together. Stir in apples. Pour into pastry lined pie pan. Dot with butter or margarine. Cover with top crust, cut slits, seal and flute edges. Bake until crust is light brown and juice begins to bubble through slits in top, about 40-50 minutes.

SWEDISH APPLE PIE
Apples for a pie
1 tbsp. sugar
Cinnamon
3/4 c. melted butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Pinch salt
Vanilla ice cream (opt.)
Fill pie pan 2/3 full of peeled, sliced apples. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar and cover apples with cinnamon. In small bowl, combine butter, 1 cup sugar, flour, egg, nuts and salt. Pour over the apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until golden brown.

1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon

Those are some recipes. When I have no time and in hurry, buy crust in pie tin layer your apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, whatever spice you like, dab with buttewr all over apples, sprinkle just a tad of flour, tip another tin shell on top help crust get out. Pinch together then, fork the crust a few times then bake until fork test tender apples and golden.

Apple Pie In-A-Paper Bag
INGREDIENTS:
1 unbaked deep, 9-inch pastry shell; or
1 unbaked, 10-inch pastry shell
2-1/2 pounds baking apples
3/4 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 Tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup butter, softened
TO PREPARE:
Pare, core and cube apples (approximately 7 cups cubed apples.) Combine with 3/4 cup sugar, 2 Tablespoons flour and the cinnamon. Pile into prepared pastry shell and sprinkle with lemon juice.
To make topping, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup flour; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over apples (pie will be high). Slide pie into heavy brown paper bag, large enough to cover pie loosely. Fold end of bag over and fasten with paper clips. Bake in 425 degree oven for 1 hour. (Bag will not burn.) Remove from oven, open bag with scissors, remove pie and cool on wire rack.

mix well. Stir in the sour cream, egg, vanilla and
nutmeg. Add the apples and mix gently. Spoon into the
pie shell.
Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
Combine 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon in a bowl
and mix well. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Sprinkle
over the baked pie.
Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes longer.
Serve warm or at room temperature with vanilla ice cream.
NOTE: One cup sliced or chopped apple is the equivalent of
one medium apple.

roast granny smith and jordan apples in oven for 15 min. in a 325 defree oven (to get rid of excess moisture) place peeled cored and sliced apples, brown sugar and powdered sugar or cornstarch, cinnamon powder on a buttered pie crust (to make it crispy ) bake in 375 degree oven for an hour if you put a top crust and you butter the inside of the crust it makes it crispy enjoy

Topping:
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons chilled butter or stick margarine, cut into small pieces
1/4 cup fat-free caramel sundae syrup
Preheat oven to 375°.
To prepare crust, lightly spoon 1 cup flour into a dry measuring cup; level with a knife. Combine 1 cup flour and salt in a bowl; cut in 2 tablespoons butter and shortening with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle surface with ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time; add vinegar. Toss with a fork until moist and crumbly (do not form a ball).
Press mixture gently into a 4-inch circle on heavy-duty plastic wrap; cover with additional plastic wrap. Roll dough, still covered, to a 12-inch circle. Freeze 10 minutes or until plastic wrap can be easily removed.
Remove 1 sheet of plastic wrap; fit dough into a 9-inch pie plate coated with cooking spray. Remove top sheet of plastic wrap. Fold edges under; flute. Line bottom of dough with a piece of foil; arrange pie weights (or dried beans) on foil. Bake at 375° for 15 minutes or until the edge is lightly browned. Remove pie weights and foil; cool on a wire rack.
To prepare filling, melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Combine 1/2 cup brown sugar and cinnamon. Add sugar mixture and apples to skillet; cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; stir in 3 tablespoons flour and lemon juice. Spoon into prepared crust.

I make this one when I don't have time to make crust. It is very easy and very good. My family loves it. It is called Deep Dish Apple Pie. 6 apples peeled and chopped into a pie plate 1 TBS sugar 1 TBS cinnamon sprinkle over the apples Melt 1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine Mix into butter: 1 cup sugar 1 cup flour 1 egg Pour over the apples evenly ( it fills in around the apples as it cooks) Bake at 350 for 45 min until crust starts to brown This is not your traditional pie pastry crust. It is more of a cakey batter topping that is absolutely yummy.
