Ignore all the other idiots who posted on here, they are just trying to mess you up. I'm a junior this year, and I remember what its like that first day. I don't know how your school will be, but these are some general guidelines. One, first and foremost, remember everyone else, secretly, is as scared as you are. Two, it will be much much much better on you if you can be with a friend. If you're like me and didn't have any go with you to highschool, then you'll meet some. I recommend you be EARLY. There is nothing worse than being late like me on the first day. In addition to being singled out, I had to sit in the worst seat in the class for first period math the whole semester. As to what you should wear, I recommend playing it on the milder side to get a feel for the environment. Don't go all out, don't dress like you're nine. (Even if your mother insists, like we all know she will.) Unless its your style or something YOU want to do, do not let your mom put on one of those 'nice' checkered shirts. My mom did that to me. Just trust me. If you have your schedule now, go find where your class is before the first day. To be honest, the thing you're going to do is just not single yourself out, because everyone else is afraid like you and will seize the chance to group against an 'outsider'. I don't know how the locker system at your school works. At our school you kinda just get one, they aren't assigned. Also, this is not entirely related to your question, but its still important. I highly recommend you get involved in the school from day one. Join a sports team. If you don't have any experience, joing cross country, you won't regret it if you stick with it. (Unless you truly dislike running). Join some clubs, you'll thank me later. So, in conclusion, be well prepared, go to school early, and remember this is something everyone is going through. Oh, and ignore the Juniors and Seniors who are going to poke you and say things like "Freeeeeeshmeeeeeat!". Sorry, I don't think that helped. Anyway, good luck and be sure to tell me how the day went!

First off, don't panic! the way it was in my school is you go to your homeroom and then they'll show you where your locker is. The homeroom teacher usually explains everything about what to do in between classes and the rules and all that. About what to wear, all i can really say is jeans and a shirt. Oh, have at least 2 1" binders and a big binder on the first day so you can have something to write in for the really crabby teachers that think the school revolves around them. Don't worry about it too much because then you'll be freaking out too much and will be falling over yourself. And be yourself. Hope that helps.

ok. usually they have all of the freshman meet somewhere. but if they don't go to your homeroom first. there isn't anything thats in your locker, unless you have a coat or something that you want to put in there. Wear what you are comfortable in. i usualy wear jeans and a t-shirt. you really don't need to bring anything to the first day other than something to write with and a notebook. teachers will tell you what you are going to need for there class on the first day and they usually give you like 3 days to get all your stuff together. good luck and have fun. high school is a blast!

Wear whatever is going to make you comfortable, dear. The first day of high school is stressful! You're going to be running back and forth, trying to find your classes, rushing to the office and back, meeting new people, and finding your way around. You don't want to be running around in clothes that are going to be hellaciously uncomfortable! Try to avoid high heels or anything that could possibly catch. I would avoid skirts and such as well. This isn't going to be the day to show off, this is going to be the day to get your schedule down, your teachers right, and to learn the layout of your school. Honestly, you're not going to have time to worry about how good you look to everyone else. Wear what normally makes you comfortable and that you can get around quickly in. Jeans and a shirt are your best bet, or shorts. Besides, you're not going going to remember what you wore on your first day... you're going to remember how hectic it was! Save the special outfits for special occasions, like spirit days, dances, etc.

Firstly you have to STOP PANICING! If I was you I would go to my homeroom first. Here you will recieve all the information you will need I am sure to continue the rest of your first day, which you will enjoy trust me! It will be scary at first but great once you get into the swing of things! And wear what you are comfortable in! (Remember everyone will be feeling exactly the same as you!)

Take a deep breath and relax. KNOW that you are special and unique and its OK to be nervous. Wear what you normally wear, take your stuff to your homeroom first (In case they re-assign lockers or something. Try this and I guarantee it will be easier. Be very laid back and cool, let others come to you (and they will if you are a bit quiet and cool - remember thay are as scared as you are!!).

Usually most girls wear a skirt and some kinda casual top with flipflops. But that doesnt mean you cant still wear jeans/capris or w/e.
Usually, (at my highschool at least) everyone just sits and talks before school and we have time to go to our lockers and just chill in the hallways. However, you can still go to your homeroom and then go to your locker after its over.
GOOD LUCK!

I just started high school about a month ago. On the first day we just went straight to 1st period. but all schools are different. My school doesn't have lockers this year because we're being renevated. Have your mom or dad call the school or if you have friends that are going there ask them.

Dont worry it's normal to be nervous on your first day. Normally they will tell the freshman exactly what to do and where to go. They understand that it's your first day of highschool and they won't expect you to know everything.
Just be convident and try not to act too much like a Freshman because trust me upper classmen know whos freshman and whos not by their actions. Just be cool.

Your first day of highschool they will tell you what to do.
Generally you meet for an asembly where you get your locker info, and learn where your home room is.
You go to your locker when you get off the bus, put your stuff away, load up your bag for your first few classes and then go to home room for attendance before going to your first class.
