If you are asking this question in R&S, you clearly aren't looking for a real answer.

However, the earth is thought to be about 4.5 billion years old, and there is evidence of "advanced" life forms (single cell organisms) in rocks dating over 3 billion years.

The fundies will tell you that all life came into being in its present form about 6000 years ago, which I assume is the answer you want to hear.

Life has no age, it gets renewed every day. The things of life have age, but this cannot compare with life itself. Life travles in a spiral, there is no beginning and no end. Before you were born you were not alive, so you must have been dead. But you could not have been dead unless you were alive before that so you could become dead. One generation dies to make room for the next, a whole new expression of life. It is both a continuation and a complete re-creation in one.

It depends on which life you are talking about. In Genesis 1:1 it says "in the beginning" we are not told when the beginning was. If you are talking about the beginning of flesh man then it is when God created man on the Six day.
