Sanctimonious sabre-rattling to frighten the heathen Communists.

Many of our "Founding Fathers" were Christian...manywere Deists... most all recognised the value of the judao-Christian ethic... that is why so many "christian" ethics were incorporated into our laws through the greatest mortal document ever written by the hand of man...The constitution of The United States of America.

btw...I am of The True Christian Faith... and I believe that the phrase "under God" should be removed from The Pledge... The pledge should be restored to " One Nation, indivisable, with liberty and justice for all"

Danielle is right. It was during the peak of McCarthyism - when rabid anti-Communism, suppression of freedom of expression, and Christianity were discovered to - what a surprise! - fit together like hand and glove. The phrase was stuck in there, because as we all know all Communists were also atheists were also anti-Americans, and all good Christian folk were also American and anti-Communist. And liked apple pie and baseball.

And so victory was achieved over the evils of communism and atheism and all Americans live in a happy world of democratic brotherly love.

Amen.

What makes you think our founding fathers weren't Christian? Many of them came to this country to seek religious freedom and to escape religious persecution in other countries. They based the principles of this country on Christian believes. It is in our Constitution, in our Pledge, and on our money.

Our country was established by a group of christians. why is this hard for so many to accept? All of the unGodly want to come into this country and twist our freedom principles to attack christianity. There will come a day when those people have to answer for it.
