I downloaded some photos from my digital camera onto a CD-R disc using my CD-RW drive on my Dell Dimension 3000 computer. The problem is that when I try to play the CD-R disc on a CD-ROM drive on my computer at work or even a CD-ROM drive of any computer, the CD-ROM drive doesn't even read it. Is there any way I can convert the files so that it can be read on any CD-ROM drive?

did you finalize the disc when you were done recording? A lot of problems come from that. Put the disc back in your dell and try and open it. Then check the spot where it asks you if you are done. It will then finalize the disc so it can be read in other computers. Also make sure the softare is compatable.

Can you read the disk in the original CD-RW drive that you originally burned this CD-R on? If so, try adding another photo & make sure to finalize/close the session (so that no additional photos can be added) Then you'll be able to read the disc in normal CD drives.

It should be able to read it... Try going to Explorer and selecting the CD drive... The files on the disc should show on the right... Go up to View and choose "Thumbnails." All the files should show as little 1-inch or so pictures...
Also, try going to a photo-editing/viewing program and select the same drive... The files should show up and be viewable...

If the files aren't appearing at all, then there must have been an error with during the burning process.

If you can see the files, but can't open it, maybe it has something to do with the file extensions.

If it is in *.jpg, *.jpeg, *.gif or *.bmp, there should be no problems. But otherwise, you might need a special program, such as Adobe Photoshop, among others.

If the files don't have extensions, try renaming them with .jpg
