Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God

Brother, every one of us is a Child of God -- some sons, some daughters. Whether or not we believe in him (or Jesus), or follow their teachings, doesn't matter -- he is still our heavenly Father.

People can choose to turn their backs on God, the teachings of Jesus, and the Word of God (the Holy Bible). They can worship other people, or animals, or man-made deities, or nothing at all. That is evil, and God, as any parent, will punish a wayward child.

It troubles me to see those who claim to be Christians denying that God is a Father to ALL of us -- HIS is not a conditional love.

Remember, Christians -- JESUS DIED FOR SINNERS! HE redeemed OUR sins, and made us ALL adopted children of God. It wasn't conditional upon some mysticism. There are no magic words, statement of belief, or altered state of mind that brings about our salvation -- only Jesus' sacrifice. So get off your high horses about how *special* you are -- you're only *special* because God loves you -- as he loves ALL sinners.

I believe all of us our God's children, but that Jesus was a special son (especially for us Christians).

I know that most Christians see him as the only son, and I respect that.

I know that Muslims see Jesus as God's spiritual son (and prophet), similar to Moses and Abraham, and I respect that too.

Whatever someone believes is fine with me. I have a tough time, however, with the idea that there is only one belief that sets you on the path to God.

That would very much depend on the beliefs and/or faith of the person.

Dieties were created by man. There is no physical evidence of the existence of any "god" or "gods", nor has there ever been.

Following that line of logic, I would have to say that nobody is a "son of God" - we are all the product of a long line of evolution.

Everyone is a creation of God, made in His image. However, a son of God is one that is "adopted" into the family. Once you accept Jesus Christ, you allow God to adopt you into the family. Everyone has the POTENTIAL of being a son of God but a lot, if not most, don't accept God's offer so they choose not to be a son of God.

No. We are sons of Adam who was made in the image and likeness of God. Jesus was the only son of God but through him we can become adopted sons of God.

We are all the sons and daughters of G-d and no one person has ever been more important that another.

We are all children of God, sons and daughters because he created us in his image, but we have a special relationship when we are redeemed.

[Rom 8:19] For creation awaits with eager expectation the revelation of the children of God;
[Rom 8:20] for creation was made subject to futility, not of its own accord but because of the one who subjected it, in hope
[Rom 8:21] that creation itself would be set free from slavery to corruption and share in the glorious freedom of the children of God.
[Rom 8:22] We know that all creation is groaning in labor pains even until now;
[Rom 8:23] and not only that, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, we also groan within ourselves as we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies.

If I am a son of god then god isn't much of a father because he didn't appear to me my whole life and just left me a book to read stating that he was real and that I should worship him. My father is the one that cares for me and that helps me when I'm trouble. In that father, my father, I truly believe. Thanks Dad! (I'm gonna go and hug my father now)
