The astral world - or astral plane is the beyond this time and place - beyond the physical world on earth. It is where spirit resides and can travel for meditation, journey, healing, oneness with the creator, heaven, etc.

The astral body - is the spirit of either a human or a non-physical entity. The astral body of a human can travel outside of the human body to the astral plane to do work with other spirits, humans, angels, etc. for healing, meditation and gaining spiritual wisdom.
