Once again I went to the Big Boy restaurant in Mt Clemens Michigan and as I pulled into the parking lot I start looking for those "I support the Troops" magnet on the cars. Hooray!! I discovered one. I walked up with my American Legion hat on and said "Thank You for supporting the war and our troops" and the driver beamed with a hearty smile. The driver said "Yes Sir!! I love our troops and I support our men"... I said "Sir!! My cousin is an Army Recuriter near this city and I see you have one young man with you about 20 yrs old so let me get him signed up to fight in Iraq and make Bush happy." My God!! Oh My God!!! This driver looked at me with instant hate and disgust. He said to me..."NO! My son will not die in this war. You see I only support the war as long as other people have family members who serve and die. If my son had to go in then I will not support the war. My son is too good to die in this war. Let the lower class die. We're too high class. "WE ARE REPUBLICANS"!!

You make stuff up. Why do you do that? Is it because you can't support your theories and beliefs on the truth?
You should check some facts before making an @ss out of yourself. Do you even know that most people in the Military are registered Republicans? And I'm willing to bet a good portion of our troops parent's are also Republicans. I certainly have never heard my own in-laws gripe or complain about their son, my husband, serving in the Military or ever being put in a dangerous situation.
Your stories are lacking imagination. This is just not a conversation that would take place in restaurant parking lot between two strangers! However, I would advise you that while you're safe and protected behind your computer as you run your mouth about our Country and our Military, you may want to watch what you do say to someone face to face if you ever get up that kind of nerve. There are some people out there that aren't going to take too kindly to that, and you may find yourself in the Emergency-Room getting stitches in your head from having the crap beat out of you.

Clearly, this conversation never happened. However, I can take you to many people (Republican and Democrat) who not only support the war but proudly have their children deployed in Iraq. And yes, some of those children have become casualties in that war.

Your attempt to use these young people in a thinly disguised attempt to make political point is sad in the extreme.

So to is your attempt to get around the Yahoo/Answers requirement to ask a question when you are really attempting to make a political statement. Yes, you are pushing your luck!

That sums it up for the people who claim that they are very patriotic. As long as it doesn't bother their family, it is okay, but as soon as one of their own get involved it is a bad war. Republicans like to stir stuff up, but really don't know what is really going on. Look at the Dixie Chic situation? They get on the bandwagon, as long as they can hide in the crowd. Only in America. If someone told them to jump in a river, they would jump as long as it was a Republican telling them. They can't think for themselves!

Yeah, I don't think this happened.

I like to go up to PRAY FOR OUR TROOPS signs and convert them to P AY FOR OUR TROOPS signs. Since as a member of the military I need your tax dollars alot more than your prayers. Prayers and moral support doesn't arm, train, equip, or pay me or my soldiers. We need money not prayers.

Yeah, you're pushing your luck. Expect to get the daylights beaten out of you by a patriot.

One step forward with you - two steps back. How is telling a lie like this helping your cause? You have just lost any credibility you were gaining with me. I am disappointed with this. Do us all a favor and delete this question.
