Are you kidding me? What are all of these immature people even doing in a category called spirituality???

Question

I'm new to Yahoo Answers but I thought I would find some intelligent debate about important matters. The answers I just read in response to Yoko Japan show how young these respondents are or how incredibly nonspiritual they are. I'm very dissappointed now because I was excited a few minutes ago about this site.

I received a lot of encouraging answers. I just wanted to make sure their were serious people out there and that not everyone was playing around. Thanks!!

Spirituality can refer to the lack there of.

You have to pick and choose your questions carefully, as there are people who are on here specifically to start trouble. (On both sides of the situation.)

We have the people who are on here to "try to save our souls". Even though it's an obvious vein attempt to make themselves feel righteous.

Then you have the people who are on here specifically to try and crush the people who speak about religious things in yet another obvious vein attempt to make themselves feel intellectually superior.

I hold true that I am superior. But I never claimed not to be one of those people.

Sorry your first experiences with Yahoo Answers was not as great as you had hoped, but don't give up because of a few annoying answers and questions. We need more intelligent conversations on this bad boy anyway.

There are different responders on here some are very young people 11-14 years old who have an attitude.

Trolls who write questions they know will bring many hostile responses from angry people who were offended.

We also have alot of helpful people who give the best responses they can based on what they know or they point to another source.

I don't know why you'd be surprised to find immature people in a discussion about "spirituality". That's pretty much the norm everywhere. Have you ever looked at the spirituality section of a bookstore? They're not marketing to deep thinkers. It's generally "Deepak Chopya" and the like, isn't it?

Mostly promises of shortcuts to wisdom. Those are sure to attract immaturity.

If you're looking for an intelligent debate, you came to the wrong site. Unfortunately you'll stay and join the fray, thinking you are more intelligent than the rest of us. But you ain't!

Don't give up on it. There are some very childish and rude questions and answers, but you have to ignore them and help raise the quality here. Occasionally you can find some really good debate, and it gives you a great opportunity to share your views on it.

This is a forum for everyone. I agree some of the posters are immature, but that's life.

If you see a really offensive question or answer, check the community guidelines. If it meets the definition of abuse, click on the little flag under the question or answer and report it.

From my experience with YA, most people are on because they are young and bored. They just want to do something, and don't care if they appear stupid or offensive. Mostly, they just want to kill some time. Me? I'm here because I hope maybe I can help someone.
