Well, if there is evidence that the condemned person is innocent or will improve in time, or is that person survival is useful and will benefit a large number of people, then yes the king can pardon the person.

Personally, I am against capital punishment of any sort.

First....it's a Good Question Shyamala!!!

The King should be ready to listen and consider any question or any evidence comes from the side of the accused...becoz a life is gonna be ended....which will never come back...
