What are some of the factors that make it hard for you to change your mind about religion?
The burning of women and men as witches and the delusional nonsense that religion spews forth just turns my stomach. If it is not realistically supportable or verifiable you are sure to find whatever it is in some brand of religion. Away with it all.

From the stand point of one whom does indeed embrace religion, I would say the empirical evidence of subjective experience which cannot be communicated due to the subjectivity. However it was examing the evidence for my self that led me to the place where personal experience was possible. The belief that our faculties can give us unequivocal truth about reality and that their testimony can be acted upon helped me to examine the behavior of those who were eye witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus and I could not help come to the conclusion that the events were as they were presented in the gospel. For a bunch of His followers to be huddled together in hiding one day and the next to go out boldly as they did tells me that the only thing that could transform them in that way was if they really had seen Christ alive after seeing Him die. There are also alot of reason and logic and scientific discoveries which caused me to look harder at the truths of Biblical claims including the areas of DNA and genetics, cosmological events, and the irreducible complexities found in molecular microbiology. It just became too overwhelming for me to disregard the evidence that the message of the gospel is true to scripture, true to reason and true to life.
Ultimately however it is the inner transformation that has made the difference. I believe that we are given more illumination based on our response to the degree of light that is given to all men. If there is no response the light goes dim until a darkness consumes the inner being and we respond to it as if it is the true light of the soul.

In my view (and in my view only), religious & spiritual beliefs are intrinsically incoherent.
I consider they are by-products of earthian cultures.
I definitely don't trust any kind of religious & spiritual concepts.
I am a non-believer but I have my own "faith".
---
"What are some of the factors that make it hard for you to change your mind about religion?"
- intrinsically incoherent;
- statements;
- mistaking "inner-self" with the "divine";
- collective hallucinations;
- brain-washing;
- people put on pedestals;
- scaring people with stuff like "hell", "end of the world", "new holy world to come";
- fanatism;
- beliefs in super-beings;
- narrow-mindness;
- lies;
- manipulation of masses;
- "we are saved. The others will go to damnation";
- intolerance;
- judgement;
- proselytism.
And so on.
I am very aware I don't write the "truth" but only what I think/feel/believe about Religion.
I must say that I know lots of very kind Believers & Non-Believers.
I distinguish people from what they believe in.

All the wars through out history because of it.
How religious leaders use God to put fear in people.
How women never had a significant role in any of it.
While there are children dying of hunger all over the world and the Vatican is one the richest country in the world.
There are so many things!!!
If God exist... I'm sure he would not approve.

Religions are like dreams. They are nice to see, ideal to hope for, but ultimately, that's all they are. Not even they can give us the answers to what we crave to hear.
I believe religion is only for the idealistic optimist. Perhaps it's also because we realistic pessimists are simply too afraid to believe so wholly in something that we will go all ends to discredit it.

These,
All contemporary religious dogma has failed humanity!
All contemporary religious dogma divides the human family!
All contemporary religious dogma causes too many tears!
The whole of humanity longs for something that will bring
us all together as brothers and sisters. Something that
will allow us to embrace our unity.
Nothing I see on Earth today makes this possible!!!
Bless all souls. Peace and Prosperity to everyone!
Have fun but be safe.

People like you, & also I know in Whom I believe, & that he is able to finish his work in me. Therefore there is NO FACTORS that can change my mind.

The idea that there is no afterlife. I'm Catholic heading toward Deism or Agnosticism. The idea of dead being just dead scares the hell out of me. If I can take my idea of heaven with me I'll be fine. And even my idea of heaven is not one where we are all human's again- just that our souls or spirits may be reunited with our loved ones.

The main one is lack of hard evidence but also the lack of rationality and logic.
