They sell booster chairs that you set upon a regular chair, and that gives the child the height needed to reach the table like the adults. They are inexpensive and easy to use. OR, if you want, remove the tray from the high chair and move the child close to the table where he/she can easily eat from the table as adults do.
Good Luck!!

You can buy little "booster" chairs that strap on to the top of your normal dining chairs. This lets the child sit at the table with you and feel like a grown-up! You can get these from places like Argos, Mothercare etc. Hope that helps!!

Depends on the age of your child. Both my toddlers (aged 3 and 20 months) sit directly on chairs. Start them young and they will behave when eating out.
If this fails, they sell booster seats in argos that strap to you dinning room chairs, although is very similar to a high chair in a childs eyes because of the straps.
hope to help. xxx

Wal-Mart is where I bought one, only 15 dollars and straps onto a regular table chair. Comes with a tray or you can scoot the chair right up to the table. Was a hit with my 1 year old.

Try a booster seat that straps on to a regular chair. Also, you could just get rid of the highchair tray and pull his highchair up to the table. Or you could just do what my parents did and make him sit on the phone book :-) Anyway, here are a few booster seats I found:

My kids loved the hocus pocus chair, esp the boys it lasted forever and was really practical. It goes from a high chair you can put up to the table and turns into a chair and table combo for older kids ( lasted til about 5 yrs)
then when they are wanting to play hey presto you turn it over and it is a rocking car !!

Well theres a couple things that you could do . Walmart sell a great booster seat for traveling even and its about $15.00. Or you can go to a furniture store and buy a higher chair that fits your table and his requirements.

I got one of those strap on chairs from Babies r us. It worked really well because you can just use it as a booster when you are ready. It strapped directly onto your own dining chairs and folded small enough to take out with you too.

You can get some lovely sets but if you want to spend little to try him with the idea of something new, try a plastic childs patio chair, there has been loads of them about recently and thy're only about £3 if not less, we picked one up for £1.50!
