Why don't you visit a third world country like Cambodia or Vietnam.
See the thousands of people without arms or legs due to mines sold by so called first world countries - even children as yound a 9 or 10 without limbs
See people with the most grotesque deformaties due the civilised First World defending democracy, in this case US indiscriminately using Agent Orange defoliage bombing.
Then re-define Third World and Charity.
You will find your question an embarrassment!

I don't hate giving to charities.
I hate being harassed by people who've already asked and forgotten that I've given. Or by people who won't take no for an answers.

I believe the term "third world" is no longer in use, the term is developing countries. And thank God you were not born or have to live in one of them.
No amount of money from charity can help them as long as they are not taught to fend for themselves, but the situation in some of those nations is apalling, and wars do not help at all. If you hate giving anything to help these people in any way, at least pray for them, it won't cost you a dime.
