I have a Koss DVD player, 5.1. Picture is fine but audio is not. I have only the 2 front speakers connected. I sometimes hear only background sounds but no actors voice/dialogue. What's up??

Sound like you did something wrong when you set up your surround sound in your receiver.
I suspect that you failed to tell the receiver that you were using only two speakers and not five.
Or when you were supposed to be balancing your speakers for sound that you gave it incorrectl information and it is not producing sound correctly. Go into the set up mode for your receiver and see if it is not in a negative(-) setting, change the setting to 0 and see if this does not help with the sound.
Do the speaker work properly when you play a CD or the tuner.
If they do then maybe the DVD player is not functioning properly and should be taken to the repair shop.

Check your audio settings in the menu area. There may be a way to change the number of speakers you're using (5.1 surround to 2 speakers) or perhaps a feature like mine which boosts the background audio level. If that doesn't work try hooking all the speakers up or consult Koss' tech support.
Hope this helps and have a great day!!!

Please placed up your television sort and your particular setup. What cables are getting used for the video and audio? Optical and HDMI? the place are the cables going? Is your Audio receiver switching audio and video for you? In different words do all cables visit the receiver and purely one pair is going to the television or do all video cables visit television and none to receiver. purely a shot at evening, yet examine your Pioneer receiver and notice if the digital and Analog settings are perfect. (there could be a "sign elect" button or a "source" button, examine your instruction manual to ascertain how the reciever controls switching between analog or digital. There could be an motor vehicle placing besides the indisputable fact that that's overridden with the incorrect click on your distant.) no count if that's desperate for analog sound from the DVD or BD it won't play any sound in any respect because of the fact the sound from those units is digital. that's attainable that it rather is the comparable undertaking you have with the video too no count if that's being switched for the period of the receiver.
