I mean, we are not innately designed to have one partner for life. If marriage is God's plan and supposed to be the way to happiness, why do I see nearly everyone who is married getting divorced after 10 years or so, and people who just stay together in marriages unhappily to avoid the inconvenience of messy break-ups. Just about everybody gets married, but how many old couples do you see still happily married after a lifetime together? Was this a mistake in God's plan, or did people throw that one in themselves?

Luke 20:34
Jesus replied, " The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. 35. But those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage,

Have a blessed day.

God created Eve to be "an Help meet" unto Adam. I also think that although he meant for man and woman to come to gether in marriage and be fruitful and multiply, that there are some people who are just not suited for marriage. It is not a bad thing, just an observation. Some people lack the ability to give and take which is required to sustain a healthy marriage. Some people are not destined to be parents either. It takes lots of soul searching to reach the point where you know if you are one of those people or not. Marriage is a huge step and should not be entered into lightly. Too many people today marry in haste and divorce at leisure. Most of them do not learn anything from the mistakes made the first go round and are destined to repeat it next time. Jesus never married because he had a higher purpose. Many people today have things they value more than marriage and for them marriage would be a mistake. If you do not have time or plan to make time for it to work than your best bet is to stay single.

God honors marriage between a woman and a man. God said, It is not good for man to be alone. If you are seeking marriage, you should pray. Ask God to send you the right mate. When He sends you somebody, it will last forever. There are so many divorce rates because, people jump to fast. They don"t seek God for guidance. I Thank God i have been happily married to the same man for 23 years.

Yes we are designed to have ONLY one partner in life. There are several passages in the bible that teaches about this. Also teaches that two people that are getting married should be in the same page, serving God, and have the same purpose, but sadly everyone wants to go by his own, and not trying to live as ONE, just living by himself. Also Paul teaches that you could stay single like he was.

Humans invented marriage. Gods had nothing to do with it.

I agree that it's a flawed concept, and I don't recommend it to anyone. Humans are serially monogomous by nature, not lifelong monogamous.

I disagree (respectfully) about having just one partner. I've had one for the past 40 years...I'm still crazy in love. I wouldn't change a thing

o This is a recent trend.
o Seen mostly CAPITALIST countries, where money is the most important.
o People in most countries stay happily married for their whole lives.

It just needs love, and compromise.
