Today I'm not working out (I work out every other day because im trying to put on some weight and muscle after being really sick and losing weight), but i still think I need to get in some protein in order to keep up the weight gain (i haven't gained any yet :( ) so what time of day is best to drink my soy protein drink? It has 23 grams of protein. Should I be drinking two a day, or could that hurt me? I DONT WANT TO GET CONSTIPATED...that's part of my problem...so if you think it might constipate me....well i'll take any advice i can get guys. LoL.

i would say the morning, protein helps with mental clarity and helps your mind focus, providing you with a better day. Drink water and you will hopefully avoid constipation

I agree with some of the other answerers. I suppose, I'd drink it as a light mid-afternoon snack.

I think a lot of people assume that protein shakes (of any sort) are magical growth substances. Really they aren't. They are just protein in a convenient package.

You can get the same health benefit from eating a can of tuna or eating yogurt.

Some of the protein shakes, however, do contain extra vitamins or amino acids, which never hurt. But don't make a mistake in assuming that just because you are consuming protein shakes that you are going to look like the models they use in the glossy ads. It's just an extra 25 grams of protein (100 calories or so).

For me, I usually drink a whey protein shake before a workout. Once in a while I'll drink one before bed if I feel I haven't had a lot of protein in my diet throughout the day. Generally, unless you are a vegetarian (or close to a vegetarian) or training hard, you probably don't need the extra protein.

Good luck.

Hate to shake your world, soy does very little for you. Eat fruit. Take the soy drink before lunch, so it will partially fill you up, you will eat less. Check with a nutritionist about quantity daily.

you're entering into shape, stable for you! Emphasize stretching once you're sore. you do not prefer to get injured. in case you like, decrease the variety of days you artwork out yet boost the intensity. this could motivate muscle progression and make you extra advantageous, quicker. So bypass 4 or 5 days a week then bypass as much as all seven in case you could. stable good fortune!

After your 20 min. walk before breakfast.
Yuor metabolism will kick in while you are walking, so when you have your soy meal, it will be digested nicely.
